I have been a Body Buster Fitness member for about a year and a half.  I joined in July 2012 to try something new, get fit and get outdoors.
The thing I like most about the Body Buster Program is the variety of exercises.  You know you are likely to do squats at some point but the rest changes all the time.  It keeps the workout interesting.
In the past year, I have lost 8 lbs.  The weight took a long time and wasn’t really the part I noticed. I have gone down one, almost two, clothing sizes.  I saw this result faster and it is the one that people around me have noticed and for which they congratulate me.
I have chosen to continue with Body Buster because it is the only thing that I actually keep coming back to.  It may sound kind of funny but I am always well intentioned in my fitness.  With other types of activities, I would always sign up and intend on attending.  But, I could always convince myself to go ‘tomorrow’.  With Body Buster, the instructors have encouraged me to set personal goals and work toward those goals each time I come.  I know that the people I have met at Body Buster will notice if I miss and I look forward to seeing them too.
Since beginning at Body Buster, I have noticed my overall health improve.  I see it in small things like being able to run back to my house for something I have forgotten and not feeling out of breath.  I feel stronger, both physically and mentally.
I feel that I have gained strength and endurance that I have not had in many years.  I have gained new friends who have similar fitness goals as I do.  And, I have gained something that I do each week just for me.
I would tell people who have not taken Body Buster before they need to come and try it.  Everyone needs physical activity and many of us need someone to help us to figure out what activity works best for us.  I would tell people not to be scared off by the assumption that this is a ‘boot camp’ program.  The instructors help you to determine the level that is right for you and will give you challenges or modifications depending on your ability and goals.  Finally, I would say to come and try out Body Buster Fitness because you become part of a group that supports each other.
My advice to everyone who is busy is that the predictability of the Body Buster Program allows you to fit it in to your schedule.  For me, it forces me to NOT schedule meetings or work or other events during that time – my time.  But, if you must attend an event, there is flexibility in the contracts to change the date of a class or two.  With all of this support, there are no excuses NOT to exercise.
One of the best things about Body Buster for me is the accountability.  If I miss a class, I know some one will notice.  This helps to motivate me.  When I feel like I am too tiered to go for my workout, I think about the other people in the group, the instructors, and my goals and it motivates me to go.  Once I get there, I am always glad that I came and kept working towards my fitness goals.  And, the reward at the end of a 7:30pm class is getting to go home, shower, eat something and go to bed!

That’s right bootcampers! It’s a special time of year and we want to give back…Body Buster Style!
Body Buster Fitness will be holding FOUR BODY BUSTER CLASSES for Charity. These classes may be taken by donation (we are recommending a minimum donation of $10/per class), where all proceeds will go directly to a great charity: The Lakeshore Out of the Cold Program.
These Body Buster classes will take place on Dec 16th and 18th 2013.

Here’s how to sign up for  the classes:
1. Email “info@bodybusterfitness.com” with subject :”Charity Bootcamp”. In the email include your name, which class(es) you would like to take (location and time). Also include what your donation amount will be and how you will be paying (cash or cheque).
2.  Bring your  cash or cheque donation to your instructor in anenvelope with your name on it and donation amount. Tax receipts are available for all donations $20 and more. Should you require a tax receipt please also indicate this on the envelope and in the email and add your  full address. Please note – in order to receive a tax receipt, you will need to fill our your name and address on the class sign in sheet at the class as well.
3. Cheques may be made out to “The Lakeshore Out of the Cold Program”.
4. Feel free to invite friends and  family to these classes by donation! Also, we appreciate you signing up ASAP so that we may prepare the awesome classes accordingly!
5. If you can NOT attend any of the Charity Bootcamp Classes & would like to still make a donation we would gratefully accept.
Here’s a little info on what this Charity is all about!
Out of the Cold (OOTC) is a volunteer-run initiative that meets the basic fundamental needs of homeless, marginalized and socially isolated people in Toronto.  St. Margaret’s Anglican Church and the Lakeshore community provide this much-needed service,  donating their time and financial support to offer food, shelter, comfort and hospitality to their guests.   Every Monday evening those in need are welcomed at St. Margaret’s for a hot meal, social interaction, and can utilize the shower and laundry facilities.  100 guests are able to stay for dinner and then a movie, with sleeping facilities for 30 (men only).  Breakfast and a bagged lunch is then provided for the 30 the following morning.
Body Buster members have a team that have helped out the Lakeshore Out of the Cold Program for a number of years, either preparing and serving the dinner, or preparing and serving the breakfast and bag lunches.  This year, the Body Buster team has signed up to prepare two dinners, five breakfasts, and as well will prepare and service breakfast on Christmas morning, as it falls on a Tuesday.  For the Christmas breakfast, Team Body Buster is also hoping to provide the guests with a gift stocking containing items like a Tim Hortons gift card, warm socks, etc.

The holidays are all about family, friends, gratitude and giving back. Body Buster Fitness is proud to invite all of our valued members, family and friends out for a night of fitness, fun, prizes and most importantly a chance to give back to the Langley community!

Gateway Of Hope Langley Shelter.

Emergency Shelter


We believe that everyone should be able to be safe when they sleep at night. Life on the streets means not knowing where your next meal may come from or how you will get out of the elements to find safe, dry shelter. The Gateway of Hope was created to provide people life’s basic necessities. It is the core of what the Salvation Army does. Our Emergency Shelter can house up to 22 men and eight women and ensures that people living on the streets have somewhere safe to spend the night when they need to.




Family Services


The Gateway of Hope Family Services is blessed to offer year round programs that help individuals with emergency clothing, food and housewares.  At Christmas we assist with hampers to give people a wonderful Christmas with enough food to take them through the season.
Each year we partner with local businesses and the community to collect and distribute basic school supplies and backpacks to give them the head start they need in school
We are also able to offer subsidized summer camp for children ages 7-12 years, Family Tracing Services and assistance to those who find themselves homeless.
Our Family Services Coordinator takes the time to meet with clients, listen to their needs and assist or refer them to other community resources if needed.




Opportunities Program


Through our Opportunities Program we provide the next steps for those in the recovery process from drug and alcohol addictions – endeavouring the journey of a new life . The Gateway of Hope provides supported transitional housing for both men and women. The Gateway of Hope staff work closely with the residents of the program to break the cycle of addiction while identifying the barriers of destructive behaviour. The Opportunities Program provides residents with life and employment skills, goal setting and relationship counselling.
The Opportunities Program unique element is through the connections formed with the residents and their Opportunity Advisors. Each Advisor works one-on-one with a resident standing by their side through each life changing steps. Advisors are able to identify areas that are in need of growth and can assist in developing realistic goals.

I have been a Body Buster member for two years and a half. 
I love that at Body Buster every class is different and you never get bored. I also enjoy training with a group of people where we motivate each other. 
I lost 10 inches. 
I have chosen to continue with Body Buster because I constantly improve my fitness. The instructors are great at motivating me to push myself harder. 
Body Buster has helped me become stronger and meet various fitness goals. The program has especially improved my cardio endurance.  I also feel mentally stronger and ready to meet any challenge. I am more relaxed in my daily life even on the more stressful work days. 
I now have my set time for focusing on my health and relaxing from every day stress. I met a great group of people that help me motivate me to meet new fitness goals.  I have gained a new healthier way of life through exercise and better nutrition. 
Body Buster is for any fitness level because instructors modify the exercises to meet your needs. Even if you are already working out, Body Buster will help you pass any plateau and achieve new goals in a way that other programs will not.
Even though classes are tough sometimes, I love being part of Body Buster program. It has become a way of life for me. When I am away, I cannot wait to get back to challenging myself at Body Buster.

I started Body Buster Bootcamp because my daughter Alex encouraged me to do so. She inspired me to push myself and get again fit. I've been a Body Buster member only since July 2012, but I feel like I am with BB since ever.
What I like most is that the trainers know how to get the best out of us and to make us a stronger person. I like that every class is different and when we workout in teams. Everyone is so supportive. We are like a family taking care of each other in hard times.
I lost about 5-6 kg and 4-5 cm in all the dimensions.
The Body Buster program makes me feel good about myself. While working out in the class I focus on pushing myself, therefore I forget about all the daily problems. After class I feel rejuvenated, stronger and more energetic. I feel stronger, less sick and whenever I get a cold I get well faster. I am definitely stronger physically and mentally, and I slimmed down and got a great body shape.
I would tell anyone who has not taken this program before that Body Buster will change their life in a positive way, and if they want to lose weight and get healthier, this is the right place to do so. They don't have to worry about starting in a bad body shape or at older age. The trainers give everyone lots of options to be able to adjust to your own fitness level.
I enjoy being a Body Buster member. I can't imagine my life without Body Buster Fitness.
